Vision:

The Department of Mathematics programs are designed to provide a strong foundation in mathematics that will support our students in many disciplines and to upgrade performance standards in the field of mathematics to be a leading- department.

Mission:

The mission of the Department of Mathematics (DM) is to  graduate qualified cadres who are equipped with insight and research skills in the field of mathematics by providing them with extensive and diverse knowledge in the mathematical sciences, and to conduct cutting-edge research in mathematical sciences.

Objective:

1.To provides professional cadres in the field of Mathematics.

2. To promote a culture of mathematics at the university and the community.

3. To graduate majors who have become liberally educated and are prepared for a mathematically based career.

4. To active participation in raising the efficiency of academic staff in the department by involving them in training courses, conferences, and seminars.

5. The department aims to build a mathematical community by focusing on the following topics:

• Groups and infrastructure.

• Mathematics and its Applications.

• Mathematics edges.

About:

The Department of Mathematics (DM) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (FMCS) is a full service teaching and active research department in University of Kufa (UOK).The department offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees: a bachelor of science degree in Mathematics; a higher diploma in Mathematics; and a master degree in Mathematics.

The emphasis of our degree programs and our research activities in different aspects of pure and applied mathematics, especially, graph theory, topology, complex analysis, fractals, dynamical systems,  mathematical physics and applied probability and statistics.

Welcome From the Chief of Department

 Welcome to the home page of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kufa. We invite you to take some time to explore our pages and get a sense of who we are and what we do. We focus on preparing our students for careers or graduate study in mathematical fields, including, pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. We also serve the broader university community by providing a full range of introductory through advanced mathematics courses supporting students at all levels and with all majors.

The power of mathematics can be felt in every discipline of science and engineering as well as in everyday life.  We provide three programs, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics; Higher Diploma and Mathematics; and Master of Science in Mathematics. We plan to start Doctor of Philosophy Program next year.
