Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics holds a workshop entitled Graduate Studies in Iraq Reality and Ambition

The Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Kufa held a workshop which included the development of postgraduate studies (High Diploma, Master’s and Doctorate) and the conditions for applying to postgraduate studies for 2017-2018, in addition to the research phase from starting writing the thesis to the time of issuing the university order. Then, Hadi al-Nomani, represented the first lecture, which was entitled (A look at the laws and instructions of postgraduate studies in Iraq and he talked about the law of 26 of higher studies and the following ministerial instructions. Later, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Saheb Meechi gave the second lecture, entitled “Graduate Studies in Iraq: Reality and Ambition”. He talked about several main points, including the philosophy of education in building nations and the role of higher education in building the country. Also, he talked about the similarities and the differences in scientific research and higher studies inside and outside Iraq.  The workshop concluded with the following recommendations: The necessity of the independence of the university financially and administratively and sets up a scientific policy for the acceptance of postgraduate studies and put some criteria for the acceptance of university lecturers and for the continuation of the faculty member of the university. Moreover, directed the majority of the research of postgraduate students to solve the problems of the industrial society, agricultural or health etc, and publish their papers in solid magazines. This workshop was attended by a number of interested teachers and students.
