Seminar at University of Kufa Advocates National Unity and Countering Extremism

The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Kufa hosted a seminar dedicated to the promotion of solidarity, national cohesion, and the fight against ideological extremism. Prof. Dr. Fares Al-Sultani delivered a compelling address, stressing the critical importance of social cohesion and national unity in combating extremism and ideological terrorism.
Dr. Al-Sultani emphasized the urgent need to strengthen citizenship values, foster a sense of collective national identity, and protect sacred cultural heritage and territorial integrity. He highlighted the rich cultural legacy and historical significance of the region as integral components of this collective effort.
The seminar delved into the underlying causes of ideological extremism and explored the complex relationship between Islam and extremism. Participants concluded with a shared commitment to fortify community ties and empower young university students to actively engage in combating extremism, fanaticism, and terrorism.
The event concluded with an acknowledgment of Dr. Al-Sultani’s contributions, as the Dean of the Faculty, Asst. Prof. Dr. Salam Al-augby, presented him with commendation certificates.
