Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics held a seminar on publishing in scientific journals with high impact factor.

The Department of Mathematics / Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics held a scientific debate on publishing in international journals of high impact factor. The seminar included reading Verses from the Holy Quran and listening to the National anthem. Followed by two lectures, the first one was entitled “Impact Factors for Magazines and Authors: A Recent Look at Scientific Assessment” delivered by Dr. Zaher Muhsin Al Malki, Department of Computer Science. The second one was entitled (How to provide research in magazines with a high impact factor) delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Saleh Hassoun Abboud, Faculty of Science, University of Kufa.

The seminar objectives were to shed the light of the scientific journals with a high impact factor, how to distinguish them, how we can evaluate them with evaluation mechanism of scientific research and thesis in high impact factor scientific journals . The seminar discussed disseminating the culture of sober scientific publishing, avoid publication in fake journals, and promote the scientific publication of the researcher to avoid journal rejection. Thus raise the rank of the University. The seminar was attended by a number of professors and students
